Won't stop it until there is an automatic ban. However, that would mean 90% of van drivers would be getting bans so clearly wouldn't work.
I'm not talking about the giving your phone to someone else to answer or taking the phone out of your pocket but anyone texting or phoning whilst driving (not including hands-free/Bluetooth) does not have their full attention on the road. Texting is worse IMO.

My point was a sarcastic one.
9 times out of 10 I'd imagine that the text is completely vacuous and in no way important.
These days the youth seem to think they have some sort of entitlement to be on their phones all day every day.
South parks current series is doing a story arc about being addicted to social media and it's pretty funny.

You clearly don't understand the value some people give to their mobile phone and what it brings them.
I made a comment and got roundly cunted* on here for suggesting that the whole mobile phone/social media set-up was a replacement deity for more than a few people, but..."proof", "pudding", "is", "the", "of" and "the" again can be arranged to provide a suitable suggestion.
* - although I may have got cunted for just being a cunt. I understand that sometimes happens on t'internet.

Just to show it doesn't always go unnoticed and unpunished..
A colleague of mine had his mobile in his breast pocket while driving. It rang so he pulled it out, glanced at it, saw it was his wife calling and then handed it to his teenage daughter in the passenger seat to answer for him.
The police in the car directly behind him, saw this, through the back window of his car, pulled him over and gave him a ticket for just having it in his hand, even though he hadn't answered it.

They can make it a million pound fine and 110 points on your licence. Nobody who does it will stop because nobody will get caught because all the traffic cops have been made redundant and replaced by speed cameras.

The amount of times I've been behind someone thinking "Whst IS this cunt doing?" cos they are driving like a fucking idiot and it turns out they are on their phone is just ridiculous. And it's getting worse.
And 95 percent of the time it is a bird and alot of times they have KIDS in the car. Drives me nuts. So stupid and so fucking dangerous.
